First of all, I get to go heliboarding 2 times this season!!!!!One is a present from Chip and the other I won last year at the adventure party! This is the greatest season to do it. I also might be going to alaska at the end of march and kite boarding from anchorage to valdez.
Second, Even having to dig my car out of waist deep snow I still love snow. I just love being in it, digging in it, tromping in it and then snowboarding in it. I can not describe what snow makes me feel. It makes me feel complete, at peace and home....how can something that is not a home make me feel at home. It just does. I have gotten some AMAZING days in this week in POW! The canyons have gotten tons and tons of snow, it has been great. There is something about bottomless turns, smiling so big when the pow shot hit your face you eat the snow, the excitement of getting to your line, the feeling of accomplishment. This is something that is not of this world, something that can only be described as spiritual. Most of my family thinks I have wasted my life away snowboarding. But when you find something that makes you truly happy...why give it up?!?! It gives me me motivation in all aspects of life. AHHH....I can not describe it. But it makes me want to live life.
After shattering my back and being told I would not do this stuff again...it makes those pow turns 500hundred million times more meaningful to me. I can not describe how things feel when you loose them....forever...but then get them back. amazing.
